Last night Faith Hill's Mississippi Girl was stuck in my head until about 330 in the morning. Country isn't really something you want in your head when you're trying to sleep, especially not when you start class the next day and have to be up at 830. Started class this morning and had intercultural Britain where we learn about the history of the United Kingdom. Sounds like a lot of reading but I love history so it should be interesting. A nap before my next class was necessary as I could feel my eyelids tugging down throughout most of the class starting around 945...the class started at 930. My next class is the geopolitics of information, which long story short means we examine how communication media affects humanity in different locations and different political ideologies and if communication brings peace or conflict. Our teacher is a USC alum from the States which is nice so the class feels more comfortable joking around with him. His fiance also teaches here but I don't have her as a teacher. He teaches at an extremely fast pace but I have already learned so much in just one 3 hour block. Not to mention he let us out an hour early.
We had tickets to see Billy Elliot tonight...which was AMAZINGGGGG. I am in love! I can't wait to explore more of the plays London has to offer. The boy who played Billy was absolutely incredible in his dancing and was almost as good of an actor, especially for only being 12 years old.
Such a memorable experience!!Josh and I booked our travels for when he comes to visit and I'm sooo excited because we booked Italy and Amsterdam. Having taken Italian for 3 years I can't wait to go see all of the places and things I have learned about and try to speak the language with natives rather than practicing my grammar. We're going to be in Italy for about 6 nights and flying straight from there to Amsterdam. Josh has family in Amsterdam so they're going to pick us up and we're able to stay with them which is extremely generous and makes the trip less stresssful. SO tired. Still not adjusted to the 8 hour time difference. Hopefully we make it out by Thursday night or I am going to feel like a total loser not going out yet even though I am in a country where I am finally legal to drink and not have to worry about my ID taken away.
